Here we look at other skin problems such as ageing, sun damage and spots, and how to create your own skincare products that will manage them. You'll learn about therapeutics, and how to incorporate them into your own creations. In this module you'll make you own cleanser.

5. Precious Hands

We examine the issues affecting hands, such as roughness or thinning skin, and how you can make skincare products that will aid them. We consider the range of hand products including hand soap, exfoliators and moisturisers, and their ingredients. You'll learn to formulate like a professional. And for your assignment you will make a hand cream.

6. Better hair healthier scalp

In this module we look at the anatomy of the hair and scalp. We examine problems such as fly away hair and dandruff, and show how to resolve them using home made treatments. You'll learn about shampoo technology and ingredients, and how to make products such as hair masks. By the end of the module you will have made your own shampoo.

7. Make your own aromatherapy products

Here you'll learn about aromatherapy, its uses and therapeutic benefits. Discover how to choose and blend oils that relax or energise. Find out how to choose and blend essential oils, how to incorporate them into your products and how to use natural fragrances. At the end of the module, you'll make your own massage oil.

8. Bath and shower time

Want to make your own bath products? In this module you'll learn how to do just that. We look at how bath products are great for tired muscles (and if you want to sell them they have a great profit margin). You'll learn about botanicals and herbs used in skin care, and how to choose, blend and prepare hydrosols. We also look at how to formulate for specific skin conditions. For your assignment you'll make your own bath infusion.

9. Love those feet

Your feet take a lot of punishment, so what better than to treat them to your own foot care products? In this module we look at the physiology of the foot, the problems it can suffer from, such as blisters, hard skin and bunions. Then we look at how to make lotions, balms and soaks (the latter have become very popular due to spas and salons). In the assignment you'll get to make a foot balm.

10. Getting soapy

Soap is making a big comeback, not least because it leads the fight against everyday germs. And hand crafted soap makes a great present and can form the basis of your skincare brand. We review the many types of soap you can make, from liquid soap to bars, and the fascinating therapeuticals you can add. For your assignment you will make a moisturising antibacterial liquid soap.

11. Becoming a skincare consultant

You can earn a living not only from selling skincare products but also by providing consultations. 60% of people have suffered from a skin complaint at some time in their lives, so a lot of people are looking for advice. In this module we explain how to set yourself up as a skincare consultant. We reveal how to launch and market your services, how to conduct a consultancy session, and how much to change. We also provide ready-made forms and essential documents.

12. Create your own skincare brand

By this stage of the course you'll be familiar with making a wide range of skincare products. Now we move on to creating a brand. We show you easy ways to invent a brand name, get logos made cheaply, and choose packaging. We explain how you can outsource your manufacturing. And we reveal what to put on your labels to stay within the law. For your assignment, you will design a brand package and send it to your tutor.

13. Successfully marketing your brand

You've created your products, and designed your brand. Now you need to launch it and keep marketing it. In this module we show you where you might sell your products, from market stalls to a posh department store, and even to market your brand abroad. We look at the publicity materials you'll need, how to approach buyers, and easy ways to set up a website.

14. Getting the numbers right

In this final module we look at money: how to cost your products, what insurance to get, and what tax you'll have to pay. Should you be a sole trader or a limited company? We look at the records you'll need to keep, and recommend simple ways to do that. As a bonus you'll get a product pricing spreadsheet that lets you work out the right price.
